Katie's latest profound question!!

When discussing the history of Christmas and the reason why we celebrate as Christians, Katie asked a very thought provoking and much asked question.."Why do we get gifts instead of Jesus?" So, this spurred a brainstorm of what we could give Jesus this year or every year...we came up with praise, truth(honesty), obedience, forgiveness toward others( a gift to Jesus and to others and to ourselves), happy attitude!! What can you come up with? Feel free to leave a comment on what you will be giving this year. We would love to add to our list of ideas!

Picture is our nativity--

one of the kids took the picture!!

CAUGHT!!!

The kids had the camera upstairs and I didn't know what exactly they were doing!! But, they were caught b/c they were taking pictures of Mark doing what he should not be doing. I got the camera and saw the evidence!!! HA! Take a look!

More Party!!!

Melissa's 6th Birthday Party!!

We had a princess party for Melissa with a couple friends from Church and co-oop! She turned SIX!! I am feeling a bit surprised that my kids are geting closer to the double digit ages! It's one thing when they are

2 or 3 or 4, but 5 seems sooooo older and 6 even older!! We decorated party hats, colored princess ball stencils, ate cake and opened presents! I have more pictures that I will download to the next blog entry b/c they won't all fit on one!!!

For your TV Viewing pleasure...

Matthew thought that Katie was more comfortable than the floor for t.v. watching!!!

Bird Watching!

With our home schooling curriculum, we are learning about state birds and one of the things we did was make bird watching binoculars! The kids picked the paper to cover their toilet paper rolls and we taped the two together to make their own personal bird watching binoculars! Then, we went outside!! They loved it and it was fun just watching them from my bird watching camera!!

Pin the tail on the Horse in the VAN!!

Katie is one of the most creative people! She comes up with games all the time! One of them was her pin the tail on the horse game she and Melissa played in the van. She had Melissa blind fold her and then she tried pinning the tail(that she had torn out of the paper--first picture) on the horse she had drawn!! So creative!

Funniest Song Ever! If you know the Underwood song Jesus, Take the Wheel!

Dress UP!

Our church had a harvest festival and the kids got to

dress up. Mark really wanted to be Lightening McQueen, but how does one dress up as a CAR? Melissa is Lola and Katie is Hannah Montana, both from their favorite show: Hannah Montana! Cousin Londyn also came to church as Hannah and Cousin Grant came as Spider Man. Cousin Davis was a New York Yankee--although he doesn't like the Yankees--his real team was called that in Rowlett, TX. The girls' wigs came off immediately b/c they were itchy, but they got to wear them!

Fun House of Bulls

These are some recent pictures of the kids playing and I thought you might enjoy them. Well, Matthew isn't playing "traditionally," just with his food (It started as an ice-cream sandwich!) like any boy should!! Mark is the one behind the Melissa made tin foil mask! Mark and his bud cousin Grant on the couch looking very much a like!! Mark pushing Matthew around on our tile in the empty bucket--that should have clothes in it, but the summer clothes had not made it in there yet! Londyn and Katie hanging in Katie and Melissa's room while the men were watching the Cowboy game!

Charlotte's Web

Have you ever really seen a spider web so close that you stand in wonder? Well, we had one in our front tree that just was amazing! This huge spider had spun an amazing web. No words though, just web. By that afternoon it was gone though. Do they eat them?
Melissa and Mark liked playing with the safe bugs!! Roly - Polies!
It was early and Melissa was still in pajamas but I had to let them see the spider web!
