This book is another great work by Cindy Woodsmall. It is the continuing story of The Sound of Sleigh Bells. I loved how the reader is led to believe one thing about Gideon and Mattie, the two main characters. Cindy weaves the truth through segments in conversations and finally when the truth is revealed--Mattie's heart breaks once again, but not in a betraying way. The one truth that is taught through this story is to never marry or have an easy relationship to avoid hurt. Life hurts sometimes, and two is better than one...another truth that is revealed in this relationship saga between Gideon and Mattie. What would you choose to do---if you found out dreadful news that would affect two people?---End the relationship or continue --knowing that pain will follow? Read this book and enjoy the ending as much as I did. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review
John started his own company last year--Bull Consulting--doing engineering work for his parents and a few others closeby. We lived with John's folks last year and now, since October, we are renting for the next bit---we are looking into building on some land that we have acquired. Our family has also really been blessed by the church we attend here-we are involved in a home group that is learning about parenting---great friends, food, and topic! . Recently, John has started looking around for companies that he would like to work for--he has researched his "skill set" the Lord has given him and prayed a lot about direction. He has found a job at Eastman, here in Longview. Continuing on our road, we pray, we seek, we search...for God's plan for our family. The Adventure continues...

School Year 2011-2012
My plan: homeschool using My Father's World -Creation to the Greeks. Kids are attending our church's school for an hour a day...just for a bit more interaction. We also do Park Days on Friday with our home school co-op.
Healing Hearts --Beth Wiseman
This is a set of 3 novellas that were great! They are set up in one book form. Beth Wiseman, as usual, presents a great story with forgiveness and healing woven through out. I couldn't wait to find out what happened with each character, and it usually had a twist to it that made you smile. I know there is so much to the Amish community that I do not desire to live with(I couldn't have this blog in most communities!) but Beth brings out the forgiveness and humility that is their way--which I believe is really more God's way than we would like to admit. Our Lord does very plainly say---friendship with the world is enmity with God. I don't desire the rigidness that I see in some communities, but their walking in the fear of the Lord is very sound and biblical. Thanks Beth! --I received Healing Hearts free on my kindle through Book Sneeze and I have written this review with my own opinions. Thanks again Book Sneeze for this opportunity!
The Harvest of Grace
This book is the third in a series, by Cindy Woodsmall. I really have enjoyed Cindy's books and have passed her books on to others because I enjoy her writing so much. This particular book deals with forgiveness when people do not understand each other. This is an Amish based novel, so the people involved are also dealing with rules of the Ordnung(an unwritten code observed by the Amish). Sylvia Fisher--one of the main characters--struggles with her own desires and hurts and decides to leave home to avoid further temptation and hurt. Sometimes, it's easier to cut off the arm that causes sin, then to stay and resist. No damage to arms are done--just a descriptive way to show one removing themself from temptation. This book ties up loose ends from the first two novels and pulls several families and couples close together at last. I highly recommend Cindy Woodsmall as a writer!
This book was given to me free to review by the Water Brook Multnomah Pulblishing company . My opinion is just that--an opinion. Thank you for allowing me to read this and blog about it too!
1 Corinthians 7: 17 Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches.

Wow! That's impressive! The perfect dart, not the broken arm. :)
